Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Employers in Uzbekistan may be required to hire women who have been victims of harassment and violence, provided they have been referred by local labor authorities.
The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction has drafted amendments to the Employment Law, which are currently under discussion on the SOVAZ portal.
According to the proposed changes, women with the necessary knowledge and skills will be eligible to apply for jobs.
If there are no vacancies available at a company, these women will be registered as unemployed and receive benefits.
Employers who unjustifiably refuse to hire these individuals will be held accountable for their actions.
