Uzbekistan and the World Bank collaborate to develop payment systems

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting took place at the Central Bank of Uzbekistan involving World Bank experts to discuss the outcomes of a technical assistance mission aimed at enhancing the supervisory capacity for payment organizations.

As part of the mission, practical workshops were organized to discuss the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures, developed by the Committee on Payments and Market Infrastructures (CPMI) and the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO).

During the meeting, the results of the mission were analyzed, and both parties agreed on further collaboration to develop a strategy for the advancement of the country’s payment systems.

Additionally, key aspects that require special attention in the preparation of the payment systems assessment report were discussed.
