MAKON CONSULTING has been involved in a large-scale study conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The company was involved for conducting a preliminary analysis of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor (TCTC) as part of a project aimed at increasing its competitiveness.
The Trans-Caspian Corridor, linking Europe and Asia, has become increasingly strategic in recent years. According to the TCTC Association, it registered an 86% increase in transport volumes between 2022 and 2023. Despite significant investments in infrastructure and increased regional integration, the TCTC faces serious challenges due to its geographical features, numerous border crossings and insufficient coordination at the regional level.
The objective of the OECD study is to assess progress in realising the potential of the TCTC in Central Asia. The results of the study will be presented in a detailed report to be discussed at high level later this year.
